A round brown owl with pointed ear tufts, huge white and yellow eyes, an orange beak, darker wings, a tan belly with rows of feather marks, and orange feet holding a dark branch with two small leaves. The owl fills a 29x29 board and is outlined in dark cocoa. It has more colours than the cat or fox, but the shapes are large and easy to follow, which makes it a good next step after a first project.

Snowy owl
White feathers, light grey wings and grey outline and markings; the yellow eyes stay.
Owl – Snowy owl – 29×29, 7 colors, 551 beads. Each symbol marks one bead; bold lines every 5 pegs.
The eyes are the most important part. Build them first from the outside in: white ring, yellow iris, then the black pupil with its white highlight.
The feather marks on the belly are spaced every other bead and shift by one bead from row to row. Place the middle row of five first and the rows of four above and below follow from it.
The branch is two rows deep and runs across the whole board, so it also makes the piece sturdy enough to stand on a shelf.
For a bookmark, leave off the branch and fuse only the owl.
