A small ripe strawberry with a leafy green top, a short stem, yellow seeds in a regular staggered pattern and a dark cranberry outline. It fits in a 15x17 area, small enough for a quick project, and with five colours it is easy to sort. A chocolate-dipped version with white drizzle is included as a variation. Strawberries make good fridge magnets, keychains and summer party favours.

Variations
Chocolate-dipped
The lower half is dipped in brown chocolate with two rows of white drizzle dots.
Strawberry – Chocolate-dipped – 15×17, 7 colors, 157 beads. Each symbol marks one bead; bold lines every 5 pegs.
The seeds sit on every other row and shift one bead each time. Place all the seeds first, then fill the red around them.
The leaves have two outlines: dark green around the leaves and cranberry around the fruit. Use the right one or the leaves will look like part of the berry.
For a magnet, glue a round magnet behind the widest part of the berry, just under the leaves.
Make a pair: one plain strawberry and one chocolate-dipped strawberry as matching earrings or charms.
The stem is three green beads in a vertical line above the leaves. Iron it a little longer, or leave it off if the piece is for a younger child.
Use the darkest red you have for the outline; a cranberry or dark red frame keeps the berry from blending into a red or pink background.
